I Prefer the Real Thing

Diamonds like the ones in this triangle are not my favorites. I much prefer the real thing instead.

This is "BR13, Argyle", an intermediate-level triangle that I mostly paper-pieced. The diamonds are a bit wonky, but they'll do. I'll just consider them to be practice for all of the upcoming triangles with diamond-shaped pieces.

At this rate, it will take me just about a year to finish all of the triangles...

Again a reminder...if you're using the software for this, be sure to change the size of your triangle to 5 inches by 8 inches...

Anya, I really am liking these outside triangles. They are just beautiful.

when you use the software why do you change the size of the triangles? Did you make the blocks bigger than the what is in the book and that is why? I only used the book for the patterns so not sure why you say that?

The triangle looks great, even with the wonky diamonds. I have my triangle ruler, but I'm not going to start them until I have all the blocks finished.

These are going to be challenging, but very pretty at the same time.

I think "wonky" is allowable in this quilt. With so many blocks, all different, a little wonkiness just gives added character and personality to the final quilt.

And you'll be following in Jane's footsteps. I'm no longer surprised by the fudging and mistakes and add-ons that I see when I look closely at photos of some of the original blocks.

PS: I still smile when I look at my lovely postcard.

What a great block! No one will notice the wonkiness from a distance, and the fabulous colors in your quilt are what gets noticed. Your eye wants to even out the diamonds because the colors are so strong.
