A Cool Quilt for a Hot Summer

Some of you may recognize this as the going-off-to-college quilt for my son that I've been working on for several weeks. I managed to complete 18 blocks by his 18th birthday yesterday. Ten more to go...

I would normally make this a 4x6 quilt, but since the dorm beds are extra long twin-size, I'll add a 7th row. And then probably a small border in black.
P.S. Go visit Judy's blog to see what's on other quilters' design walls today...

I really love how this quilt is playing out for Nick. You do such a variety of work but I think you really are making something which Nick will always treasure.

Looks great but I don't think I would even add a border. Perfect UNLV colors :)

Oh that is nice, the colors are very sharp, and your pattern really works with the colors! See you will have it ready before Nick heads off to Cornell! Eighteen blocks in honor of eighteen years perfect! Have a great week!
