Modern Project

Sew, Mama, Sew is hosting a Modern Block-of-the-Month, so I decided to join the fun. We'll be making 12 different blocks from now through June 2012. This is my first one, which I made using leftovers from my son's high school graduation/going off to college quilt that I made last year. You can check it out here.

My plan is to make all 12 blocks using these black, white, and red scraps. And this quilt will be for ME!

I love it! When I first saw the thumbnail photo I thought it was a whole quilt, not just a block. Enlarged, it would make a great quilt!

What a great idea! You can be cozy and fuzzy warm thinking of that special guy every time you cuddle up with it.

I too thought it was a whole quil from the picture. What size is the block?

I love strippy variations, even if called Modern these days. It's your colours Anya that makes this perfect!

Black, white and red are always a winner. I can't tell you how many quilts I've made using that combo. It just works :-)

When I saw the thumb nail I thought it looked like the Periodic Table. Now that would make for a challenging quilt. I'm suspecting you might have your son looking to take this one with him as well.
