In This Corner...

4, 3, 2, 1, 0...

I decided to start with the hardest corner piece first. It wasn't really all that hard, just very time-consuming. But that's to be expected when it has 74 pieces (76 if you add the two adjoining dark triangles on the top and right.

"This is BLC (Bottom Left Corner), Goshen", an advanced-level corner kite piece that I paper pieced. This is where I rant about the software -- when I tried to print a paper-piecing pattern for this kite, the software said that "this applique block cannot be paper pieced". That's absurd...this block is not appliqued and a pattern can easily be made to paper piece it. So that's what I did. I paid good money for the software and it has bugs like this? And they haven't provided patches for downloading?

Well, it certainly is gorgeous! The software sounds more frustrating than the block. Great job on all of it. You're nearly there!!!

I love the colors you chose for this corner! Yes it looks easy for paper piecing - If I was ever strange enough to make a 3rd Dear Jane - which I'm not :) - I would never hand piece another one but make use of paper piecing instead!!! I have heard a lot of complaints about the Dear Jane software and thought it sounded not worth the money - you could scan the patterns and print out on paper piecing paper just as easily. I think.

Another beautiful block!
I'm not sure whether I got my money's worth out of the DJ software. I bought it online years ago from the JoAnn's website with a nice discount, but it still cost money and it's not all I'd hoped it would be. I've been upset by what it won't do for me, or what I can't get it to do.
I guess we have to give less-than-perfect software credit for making us better people. Out of necessity, we problem solve and exercise our minds. :)

Happy New Year, Anya.

Remind me to never, ever, ever attempt that block...paper pieced or not! It is beautiful and you did a lovely job.

Did you let the software company know about your problem? No one wants to be frustrated.

Kelly
