What Happens in Vegas....

My apologies to those of  you who commented on my blog or emailed me during the last couple of weeks and didn't get a response, but I was away on a trip with my husband and son to the U.S. southwest, starting in Las Vegas. I don't usually blog about my trips until after I'm home, so that's why I had scheduled "normal" posts while I was away.

We had a fabulous time everywhere (I'll share pictures once in a while), but the first thing I have to show you is this.... (click on the photos for a larger view)

Here's a closeup...

We spent one day walking up and down the strip in Las Vegas, popping in and out of a lot of the casinos and shopping centers, and in one of them, I spotted a store called AllSaints Spitalfields with this incredible window display. Lots and lots of vintage sewing machines -- two large windows' worth! According to its website, the store sells "vintage inspired, sharp edged and directionally designed apparel" (whatever the heck that means). I didn't go in the store, but was fascinated by all of the machines.

Here's another shot...

That's about the only thing remotely quilting-related that I came across during the whole trip, unless you count the fact that we drove through the city of St. George, Utah where Superior Threads is located. My husband and son were not thrilled with my suggestion to stop by their School of Threadology....

I love that display, but I definitely would have wanted to go in the shop. My curiosity would get the better of me. Yes, my family would have the same reaction to the School of Threadology too!
