Friends In High Places

My new friend Kathy (the one I mentioned in my previous post) and her husband Jim are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Jim works for Wegmans (the absolute best grocery-store chain in the world) and gifted me with a lovely basket filled with Wegmans' goodies.

And...after reading my rant about Domino Sugar a few weeks ago, they came bearing even more gifts -- four 5-lb bags of Wegmans sugar! (BTW...I emailed Domino Sugar about my dissatisfaction with their decision to make only 4-lb bags, but I haven't received any response...and I'm not holding my breath...)

For those who don't live in this part of the country, you're missing out on a very good thing! I just wish we had a Wegmans a bit closer to my house; right now I have to travel either 40 minutes north or 60 minutes south to get to one....but it's so worth it! If only I could convince Jim to convince the management at Wegmans to build one in Wellsboro!

Thank you so much, Kathy and Jim (and Wegmans)!

As a side note...it's always bugged the heck out of me that there is no apostrophe in the Wegmans storename, but they have an explanation for it on their website.

I share your love for Wegmans and the sorrow that I have to drive at least 30 miles to get to one! When we drive up to Potter County for a weekend at my sister's farm, we always stop at the Wegmans on the way. I honestly think I could easily spend 2 or more hours in there!

My parents rave about Wegmans and I have yet to step foot in one. I really need to get there one day. Yes, the lack of the apostrophe is bothersome some here too. But WOW... 1/2 a million to add it... crazy!

I wonder if a petition would help? I'd be willing to be the first line signer!

What a thoughtful gift!!! We don't have a Wegmans here either.

I too LOVE Wegmans. I have 3 stores equidistant to me, all about 25 miles away, in opposite directions. I don't mind the drive, Wegmans is sooooo worth it!

I have to drive for 2 hours, across a border, to get to Wegmans. I used to do it several times a year but haven't been there for at least 2 years now. You are inspiring me to plan a trip over.

I love Wegmans. If Tim Hortons doesn't need an apostrophe, then neither does Wegmans
