you will get used to your son going off to college before you know it - it took me a little while too when my girls got to that age. Karen http://karensquilting.com/blog/
Happy Birthday Nick. I missed my son so when he left for college, but now I've made it to watching him be a father and it's THE BEST! You can handle it too.
Happy Birthday to Nick, and enjoy the 40 days in the nest...you will always be part of the nest! Don't worry mom, he will bring home the college buddies...and you will love it! Sometimes my son brought 3-4 at a time, it was a blast! Nick knows the door is always open, and the cellphone is available! Have a great week, you will have a busy 40 days I am sure!
I have always thought it odd that we give gifts to our children on their birthdays. I really think the celebration belongs to the parents. Congratulations on raising such an accomplished son.
Oh, I feel for you! I remember so well when mine went off to Uni. I cried all the way home. Why? because it is the end of an era and no amount of back patting will help you. My advice is 'take a full box of tissues' you're going to need it. I had to do it three times and it never got any easier.... It is now 12 years since the youngest went off and he is about to be married on 30th July. Maybe now things will start looking up? I didn't do well with the empty nest. Blessings, Star
