This is #3 of six quilts that my friend Moddy is making for some of her young family members this fall. I just did some free-motion meandering.
This is #3 of six quilts that my friend Moddy is making for some of her young family members this fall. I just did some free-motion meandering. Those of you who are regular readers of my blog know that I've quilted quite a few for my friend. If you're a new visitor and want to see more, just click on the label "Moddy's quilts" (down on the right sidebar of my blog) . She sure keeps me busy (and keeps her family warm!).

The blocks that were left over after I made the quilt that I showed in yesterday's post are now together in a child's quilt. Once I finish quilting and binding both of them, I hope to give them to a shelter that will give them to a mother and child.

Once a month or so, I get together with several of my quilting friends to make charity quilts from fabric that has been donated to our guild. As you might expect, a lot of the fabric is dated, but still usable. Several months ago we spent a day cutting the fabric into strips, squares, and tumblers and then put them together into kits. This month I started sewing these blue and brown calicos (not my style at all) and finally finished the flimsy this past weekend. It's been very hard to work on this because I do not like the fabrics at all. I like the result (well, let's just say I tolerate the result), but would never keep this as a quilt for myself.

I recently used my AccuQuilt GO! cutter to cut some tumbler blocks from these. The top is finished...stay tuned for a photo of the finished top....

I have only seven so far, not sewn together, just arranged on my carpet for the photo shoot. As of now, there is no plan...I'll just keep making them until I get bored. Of course, I will also work on other projects at the same time.

I should just rename my blog to "Moddy's Quilts"-- this is the one she gave me to quilt for her this week. I free-motioned some loops and stars on this cute cowboy quilt.

I haven't had time to take as many photos as I'd like, so I'm hoping to do so this weekend. Then later on you'll get to see some more...there's lots to see.

My friend Moddy is busy again making quilts for her loved ones. Isn't this one cute? She asked me to quilt it for her and tells me that she will have five more for me before Thanksgiving. It's a good thing they'll all be children's quilts!

With all of the goings-on with my son's high school graduation and start of college and with the work of getting ready for my guild's exhibit, I haven't had much time to devote to my Jane Stickle quilt (you know, THAT quilt). It's been four months since I last made a triangle.
