How Do You Spell Relief?

My son's going-off-to-college quilt was finished a few days ago with 12 days to spare (we're down to one week from today, folks). I'm quite pleased with it and Nick seems to be as well.

I had an awful time trying to take a photo that would show off the quilting...perhaps if you click on the following, you'll be able to see a larger view.

And because the fabric is so busy, it's especially difficult to see the quilting on the front, even in person.

I had great fun making this quilt, especially because Nick was involved in the entire design process. Did I tell you he's a wonderful son?

It looks fantastic! It is really nice he was involved in the process, you know that it will be special to him. A tip on getting the quilting to show up better in photos... lower light seems to make the quilting stand out more.

it turned out great - and just the right amount of quilting in it I think - did you do the quilting by machine or hand, I can't see the stitching good enough to tell.

I really love it! It's a wonderful quilt. My youngest is starting college in a couple of weeks, but thankfully he is commuting for now. However, I gave him a box of fabric for Christmas with the intentions of making a new quilt, and it just is not happening (at least not yet).

It's beautiful and he's gonna love it! It will remind him of you every time he touches it and give him that all important sense of home. Thank you for your message re the quilting machine. It looks wonderful and great for taking away the most boring bit of quilting too. Enjoy your last week together! until the holidays.
Blessings, Star

It turned out fabulous. Perfect guy quilt. I made my grandson a black & white & red quilt all rectangles with three of the rectangles being sushi. I called it Three Pieces of Sushi.

Beautiful! Black, white and red is one of my favorite color combinations. How nice he can take a little bit of you off to school with him!

It's a beautiful quilt Anya and I could easily see the quilting on the back when I enlarged it - perfect for the block design! Lucky guy to have such a stunning quilt to take off to college with him. Great Mom!
