Getting Down to the Wire

6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0...

This is "LS4, Virginia's Kite", an advanced-level triangle which I paper pieced and also used the raw-edge machine-buttonhole stitch method of applique.

The Final Countdown Has Begun

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0...

This is "LS10, Megan's Cathedral", an intermediate-level triangle that I paper pieced.

Now we're down to 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0... (5 triangles and 4 corner kites).

Can't Stop Me Now

This is "RS10, Grandma Nan's Bodice", an intermediate-level triangle. I paper pieced the right side of this and then used the raw-edge machine-buttonhole stitch applique method for the left side. Not perfect, but perfection is over-rated....

New Year's Momentum

If all the triangles were as easy as this one, I'd have the quilt done in no time! Alas, that's not the case...

This is "RS-4, Dutch Apron", an intermediate-level triangle that I paper pieced. You're seeing it on its side because it is in the row along the right side of the quilt. The green fabrics are much prettier in person.

Just a reminder to those who are planning to use the software to make the quilt -- you must change the triangle dimensions to 5 x 8 inches before you print out the patterns. The default setting of 4.5 inches square is incorrect!

Trudging Along

This is "TR-10, Precious Gems", an intermediate-level triangle that I paper-pieced.

I can't wait until these triangles are finished...I'm not really enjoying the process...

A Triangle To Start My Week

Another one in the top row -- this is "TR4, Bennington Cross", an intermediate-level paper-pieced block. Not perfect, but it will do.

You may notice that sometimes my triangles have pointy tops and sometimes they are cut off. That's because I don't always remember to take a photo before I sew them to the adjoining dark triangles.

This software has so many bugs, it's not funny. I lost track of the number of problems a long time ago...Sheesh...they really need to get an improved version out on the market and they should also provide a patch (free of charge) that would correct all of the bugs for those of us who spent our good money on the first version!

This Is More Like It

After struggling with trying to paper-piece lots of very small diamonds in the first few triangles, I decided to go back to my handy-dandy raw-edge machine buttonhole-stitch method that served me so well when I was making the center blocks. The dark green fabric (much prettier in person) was cut out as one piece and then appliqued on by machine. The long edge at the top was not sewed on because it will be hidden by the seam allowance. I could have made it easier on myself and extended that dark green piece, but I didn't realize that until I had it already cut out. I'll remember that for next time.

The triangles are not looking so problematic now...

This is "BR10, Nicholas' Diamond", an intermediate-level triangle.

How Sweet It Is

This is "BR4, Candy Dish", an intermediate-level triangle that I chose to paper piece. There's a small knot of green thread on the edge down by the bottom right, but that should be covered up once it's sewn together with the dark triangle.

When I first looked at this pattern, I thought that perhaps it should be labeled as beginner-level, but once I started working with those first teeny little pieces, I understood exactly why it's not!

If you're making this using the DJ software, be sure to resize the triangle to 5 inches by 8 inches.
