Maybe I'm Hungry

There seems to be a food theme going on here....last week it was "Connie's Brownies", this week it's "LS11, Kathy's Cake". It is a beginner-level triangle which I paper-pieced and then used the raw-edge machine-buttonhole stitch applique method for the tiny melon and the curved piece at the base.

Down to Single Digits

This is "LS3, Connie's Brownies", an intermediate-level triangle which I paper-pieced and then used the raw-edge machine-buttonhole stitch applique method for the two melon-shaped pieces.

This now brings me to only nine triangles remaining, along with the four corner kites. I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel...

Finally, Another Milestone

This completes the right side row of triangles, so all I have remaining are the left side and all four corners.

This is "RS3, Epicenter", an advanced-level triangle in which I used the raw-edge machine-buttonhole stitch method of applique. If I didn't have that method, believe me, I would have torn my hair out making this one!

52 DJ Triangles on the Wall, 52 DJ Triangles,Take One Down and Pass it Around....

Wow, what a great cheering section you guys are! It's great to have friends (both in person and in blogland) supporting my effort to get this @#$%^&* quilt finished.

So, for the second day in a row, here's "RS11, Hills of Jerusalem", an intermediate-level triangle that I paper-pieced.

Trust me, you're not going to see these for 19 days in a row....I'm not that dedicated....But I do appreciate the support!

Pesky Diamonds

This is "TR-11, Phoenix", an advanced-level triangle that I somehow managed to paper piece, and the top diamond was added using my handy-dandy raw-edge machine buttonhole-stitch applique method. The blocks and triangles that involve paper-piecing diamonds often seem to give me a bit of trouble.

This triangle was not fun to make, but it brings me one step closer to the end of the top row. It's a good thing that I love the way the triangles look with the quilt...

Blue Monday

I'm working on several projects at once, but I managed to finish another Jane Stickle triangle.

This one is "TR3, Checkerboard", a beginner-level paper-pieced triangle. Very easy. I wish they all were.

Trudging Along

This is another example of a triangle made following Jane's original pattern rather than what was in the software. The pattern called for a narrow diamond shape for the dark piece at the bottom of the photo, but in Jane's block it's more of a square, so that's what I did. The original also has the two small dark triangles pointing outward in the center, while the software pattern eliminates those completely. What also frustrated me is that the software did not provide a paper-piecing pattern for this triangle, but I was able to draft one myself. If I could do it, then certainly the software makers could have as well. That's what I paid money for!

This is "BR3, Attic Window", an intermediate-level triangle that I paper pieced.

Loving To Hate

It's a good thing I really like the fabrics in this quilt, because I'm really not enjoying making the triangles. This is one of those projects that I love to hate.

This is "BR11, Tartan", an intermediate-level triangle that I paper pieced.

I hope to have a review of the AQS Lancaster show posted by mid-week...
