Baby Quilt

We added a new member to the extended family last year, so of course I had to make a quilt. I had seen something similar to this online (no pattern, just a photo), so I just drafted a pattern and used fabric from my stash/scraps. Several of the fabrics were also in the quilt that I had made for the baby's older sibling a few years ago. (see last photo in this post)

Here's a shot of how I pieced the backing to match. Look closely for the horizontal and vertical seams...

Let's Get This Going Again

OK, now that it's been a year since my last blog post, it's time to start posting again. I've made a number of quilts since last May, so a few posts are in my future.

This is a quilt from a pack of 30s fat quarters that I had won in a giveaway back in September 2009! I just added some matching solid-ish fabrics from my stash. The free pattern is from filminthefridge.com (click here for the link).

Not enough of the purple for the back, so I added some other pieces from my stash...

A closeup shot of the backing and binding (I love stripes that are printed on the diagonal).

I had a few blocks leftover, so they went into a wallhanging for our guest room...
