Finished Flimsy

Since I finished quilting and binding three quilts recently, I gave myself permission to make another top. Now it's ready for quilting and binding.

The pattern is "Falling Charms" by Missouri Star Quilt Company. Here's a link to the video, Quick and easy.

It's made with a couple of charm packs of NYC fabrics that I picked up at The City Quilter when I was in the city for Quilters Take Manhattan back in September.

To Brighten Your Day

I don't have anything quilty to show, but I want to share a photo of my amaryllis that is blooming gloriously right now!

I hope to get back into my quilting studio this weekend!

Happy New Year!

While visiting family in Asheville, NC this past Thanksgiving, I spent some time visiting the city's famous art district. I find I'm drawn to artistic pieces that are filled with lots and lots of color, and so it's no surprise that I especially enjoyed Jonas Gerard's gallery

This quotation was hanging on the wall of the gallery...and I love, love, love that visitors were encouraged to touch the artwork. As quilters, we all know how healing the touch of a quilt is, so it makes sense that touching other artwork is good for us as well.

I may not be making art in 2015, but I definitely hope to be creative!
