Sewing and School

I spent several hours yesterday at my guild's monthly open sewing session. It's always lots of fun. Here's a photo of some of the quilters who were there and their projects.

Some worked on hand quilting or applique projects, some on a machine, and some on knitting projects. One worked on hand quilting her DJ wallhanging...here's a closeup...
All of us spent a lot of time admiring it...

I spent the time sewing the temporary sleeve onto the back of one of my exhibit quilts. The exhibit opens in just over a week!

There was no time for any sewing or quilting on Tuesday night because I had "homework". It was my son's first day of his junior year in high school, and of course I had lots of papers to fill out once he got home. The same forms year after year...sometimes I just want to write "ditto" on them all because nothing has changed in the 11 years I've had to do this! ...I guess there was one addition a couple of years ago...I added our cell phone number.

I'm not sure if it's visible in the following photo, but here is what was on one of the forms...

The first line says "Check any of the following your child has experienced within the past year"; that's followed by the blank space and the line on the bottom says "If yes to any of the above please explain." Huh? Am I missing something here?

Anya ~ what fun with your quilting group, that is when quilting is at its best, sewing and chatting! OH BOY on that DJ that one of your members is quilting!

Yep I understand the 11 years of filling out forms, because right now I am sorting a desk top full of returned forms from the students in the school where I work. As for the form with the *blank* space ~ WHOOPS a cut and paste that didn't get proofed ~ tooooo funny! Unfortunately I can understand that one too ;>D !!

Barb -- I certainly don't envy you having to sort through a whole school's worth of forms! But I'll bet you get a laugh or two from what some of the parents send in...
