Once a month or so, I get together with several of my quilting friends to make charity quilts from fabric that has been donated to our guild. As you might expect, a lot of the fabric is dated, but still usable. Several months ago we spent a day cutting the fabric into strips, squares, and tumblers and then put them together into kits. This month I started sewing these blue and brown calicos (not my style at all) and finally finished the flimsy this past weekend. It's been very hard to work on this because I do not like the fabrics at all. I like the result (well, let's just say I
tolerate the result), but would never keep this as a quilt for myself.
However, one of my fellow quilters thought this was beautiful! I guess that's what makes life interesting...we all have different taste.
Anyway, I hope to get this quilted and bound soon and then get it out of my house!
Unfortunately, I still have some blocks left....just enough to make a child's quilt. Oh well, the fabric will get out of my house eventually!
