The Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild is having a party and you're all invited!
I spent the last couple of days with a few other guild members helping with the hanging of our exhibit which opens this Friday with a gala evening reception. Wow, what teamwork. When the period for dropping off quilts ended on Sunday evening, it looked like such a difficult job lay ahead. But under the leadership of two of my quilting friends, our "artistic director" Madalene (of Working Wall blog) and this year's exhibit chair Susan (of Hanging on by a Needle and Thread blog), and with the hard work of several guild members, (thank goodness for ibuprofen!) the result is absolute heaven. I would love to show you some photos of what it looks like, but I don't want to spoil the surprise. It will have to wait until sometime after the opening reception on Friday.
If you're in the Wellsboro, PA area this Friday, please consider stopping by. There is no entry fee and everyone is welcome. If you cannot make it to the reception, please consider visiting the exhibit while it is on display from September 4th through 26th. Gallery hours are 2-5PM daily, again with no entry fee. Believe me, if you love quilts, you won't be sorry you came.

I love to come but Missouri is a far piece to drive,
Thanks for the invite! I'd love to come, though I doubt I'll make it out that way. Congratulations on your excellent teamwork, I know that it's *hard* to make it come together well. Post some photos for us please, so that those of us who cannot come will be able to drool from afar!

Impossible I'm afraid, since I'm in England at the moment. However, many thanks for the invitation. We have quilt shows here too so I will visit one when I can and post the pictures so you can compare ours with yours. Meanwhile I am so looking forward to seeing your pictures (after Friday).
Blessings, Star
