Christmas Past

This was my son's first stitching project, made in 1999 when he was in second grade. It comes out every Christmas, but this year it made me cry ... they grow up way too fast .... sigh ....

I have a green paper tree that one of my boys did in kindergarten. It's pretty beat up, but still goes with all the silver and gold ornaments!
a wonderful keepsake.
Merry Christmas Anya

Years ago Clare made a Santa about 10 inches high with real sheep's wool for beard, eyebrows, and hair and hand stitched fake fur trimming the cuffs, hem, collar, and hat. It's beginning to get a bit raggedy but it still has an honored place on the buffet every Christmas, particularly those when she is not here. At least Nick will be home for Christmas. It's hard when you aren't going to see them on Christmas day. . .

The ornaments and gifts from our children years ago are high on my list of favorite things.
Nick's stitches are pretty even for his first stitching project. It's definitely a keeper.
Happy holidays, Anya.
