It's Still Christmas In My House

This comes out every year for Christmas. It's one of several Christmas-colored doilies that one of my grandmothers crocheted back in the 1960s or 1970s. I have a whole boxful of assorted doilies that she made. Some of you may remember my blog post a couple of years ago about a quilt I made using a few of them.

That is a beautiful doily! I also have a few that my grandmother made and I have them in use. Proudly on display.

I love dollies !! I have quite a few my mother has made but none from my grandmother. I have seen alot of quilts where dollies have been used and I have even brought used ones from yard sales .I too hate to cut into them but some wer used so much ,there are holes in them ,so I will be cutting into those .Love your red and green one !

and why should it not still be Christmas? We haven't got to Epiphany yet, have we. I'm with you Anya, I love to make it last as long as possible because it is a beautiful time when people have happy, nice thoughts for each other. My grandmas were also very clever at making things and they taught me too, which I am very proud about. Long may these crafts live on.
The doilies are just so gorgeous and each one tells a story about the life of the person who made it.
Show them with pride for as long as you can.
Blessings, Star

How lucky you are to have these beautiful tangible connections with your grandmother!
