This is what I managed to accomplish at yesterday's mini-retreat inbetween laughing and eating.
The first three rows are now sewn together and half of the next three rows are together. I still have several blocks in the next section to finish before I can put them together to complete the rows.
P.S. She liked it! Thanks to all for the wonderful comments about the Irish Chain quilt.

It is so beautiful! Every block just glows. Doesn't this make you want to do more?
I knew your friend would adore your quilting on her Irish chain, it was great!
Great progress at your mini-retreat. Your fabric selections are vibrant, unique, and I'm anxious to see your DJ progress. Seeing the blocks in finished rows has to just make you smile. It's stunning.
I have a lot of my blocks done, but none together in rows yet. I think I need to do that.
Looking at a closeup of your photo, I see that the cornerstones in the sashing match each row of color in your layout. Great decision! It's subtle but very distinctive.
WOW that is pretty, I just love the colors, it is so creative with your choice of Batiks for a DJ quilt! Keep on going, each block brings you closer to completion! Yep a retreat brings laughter, eating, and actually some great ideas unfold...gotta love retreats with your quilter friends!
Fantastic! This really sparkles.
