More Quilt Exhibit Photos

Here are a few more shots of the gallery where our guild's exhibit is hanging through September 28th. Click on them to see larger versions...

As you can see, we have some extremely talented quilters here in what seems to be the middle of nowhere...you don't have to live in a big city to have appreciation for and involvement in art and culture. And it's a whole lot less crowded and stressful...
P.S. Many thanks to those who took the time to vote for my quilt on Quilting Gallery!

We Interrupt Your Regular Blog Reading for This Message...

Vote for me! Vote for me! On Quilting Gallery -- my quilt called Window to My Garden II is one of the choices for the Lazy Days of Summer Quilting Contest.

We now return you to normal posts...

Thanks,

Doesn't This Make You Want To Come Visit?

As promised, here are a few more shots of the guild's great exhibit in Wellsboro, PA. Although the photos are pretty good eye candy, seeing the gallery in person is much, much better. If you have a chance, I encourage everyone to come see the exhibit -- it runs through September 28th and is free! Wellsboro in Tioga County is a wonderful small town to spend some time -- a very quiet, friendly, pretty place and we even have a quilt shop with the friendliest owners.

I apologize if you've tried to click on photos in previous posts and can't get the larger version to come up on your screen. I think I figured out the reason why Blogger does this, so hopefully it won't happen again. I'm crossing my fingers that it works fine from now on.

Magic

How do we go from something like this....

....to something like this.....?

The answer is "Magic"...along with a lot of hard work from a lot of wonderful people! As chairperson of this year's Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild Exhibit, I thank every single guild member who has worked over the last 2 years to make this happen!

More pictures to come in future posts...

Another Opening of Another Show

This is just a sampling of what you'll see at the MLQG exhibit which opens tonight. After today I can post larger and sharper photos, but for now you'll just have to wonder...

Everyone is welcome to the reception and to the free show throughout the month! Check our website for more details...

Hope to see you there!

Not Perfect, But It Will Do

I'm managing to get a little sewing done even as we're getting down to the last few days before the show opening.

This is "E-12 Mary Ruth's Corset", an intermediate-level paper-pieced block. I don't know who Mary Ruth was, but I'm certainly glad I don't live in the time of corsets...

It's A Good Thing I Was Busy Yesterday...

...because at the end of the day I found out that my 16-year-old son had driven 55 miles per hour (for the first time ever) while out on a driving lesson with my husband! On previous trips, he was afraid to step on the gas pedal...
...life will never be the same again...
They grow up so fast (sigh)...
