Paper-pieced blocks are great fun! I need to do one or two after I've done an applique block just to feel confident about how this whole project will turn out.
"This is "M-4, Stepping Stones", an advanced-level paper-pieced block. This one has 49 pieces, I believe, which means lots of little pieces of paper to tear out!
love your block - I hate paper piecing though and hand piece or applique all of my blocks. Don't you just love this quilt! Karen http://karensquilting.com/blog/
a lot of work. you are just doing one block though right? 49 pieces. I think a finished quilt of mine is about 49 pieces in all. great stuff here as always.
Gorgeous block ~ your colors are perfect for this block! This will be one *FANTASTIC* DJ quilt! Yikes on the 49 pieces though, I guess as tiny as they must be, paper piecing is the safest way to go!
My husband Gary and I live just outside of Wellsboro, PA. We left the rat race of Northern Virginia in 1997 and never looked back. Oh yes, did I mention that I am a quiltoholic?

I love the block and the fabrics. I've got to get into paper piecing.
I've been "stuck" on E-13 for days. I'd better get going or you'll be done with the whole quilt before I get another block done. ;)
